The sound of a tiny stream… gurgling on , moving all over pebbles and the long strands of green couch grass floating lazily on the surface. The sound of the steady breeze gently accompanies the stream like a bass player’s groove to the swaying ever flowing melody of a saxophone. The birds in the canopy around us joined in. To my imagination , the red cheeked bulbul calling out to its mate nearby, a couple of lazy black little pied chats cooing as though sighing of life’s wayward beauty. A little unpredictable at first but as the seconds passed , seem’d to be in a harmonic arrangement both linguistic and musical. The ground around seems to call out to the plants like the deep spiritual sound of a lone didgeridoo player on the hills , through the roots and their mycorrhizae , supplying energy from its core in its nutrient and enriching pulsations.
As i opened my eyes slowly … very slowly.. the dissolution of the black and white speculograms of sunshine at the back of my eyelids was gentle and with realization. The doorway to the visual dimension of this intricately built magnum opus of creation was opened, absorbing rays from all ends of our perceivable spectrum of colors. As the immense landscape before me washed into my mind’s shore, then further up the cliff’s and into it’s core … I could only silently speculate on the vast ocean of beauty, knowledge and life blossoming in the nurturing womb of our precious planet . Life in the form of ancient trees of wisdom, towering mountains of might , vibrant forests with a million species of birds, insects, animals, shrubs, trees and aquatic life living in balance with its nest and sustaining it’s habitat along with it’s family .
“May it be the forest, may it be the mountains,
the chirps of birds or the cold spring fountains,
I choose to trek, to hike against all odds,
to explore the deepest seas.. to the birth of flower pods”
The mountain summit awaits the explorer in the mist , welcoming and euphoric. The peak gently moving over centuries of time . I now wonder, our life span from an innocent infant grabbing chocolates to a wise old man reading poems with nostalgia would be counted in minutes when compared to what all the mountain witnessed and had grown up through. The rumbling changes in the landscape over millenia , shifting of the tectonic plates and the forging of a dynamically stable ecosystem or rather, biome . It is dynamic because its in constant change and constant rejuvenation with itself, but we are too short lived to physically see the terra-forming process. Thus the ancient knowledge and events bestowed upon these majestic towering peaks are ours to explore and discover in the form of ethnic flora, fauna, culture and traditions in the mountain villages, sublime views of the lower terrain, and endless flow of positive energy and upliftment of the mind while trekking and immersing into these archaic structures. All of the world is the proof of god’s immensely romanticist approach to creation. Everything is deeply inter twined with itself, connected to the grass roots, life of all forms, from the algae to the intelligent ape. Live in ecological and cosmic balance to see that we are part of a larger organism. A larger spiritual and emotional being.
The EARTH.
